Shutdown Manager™
Advanced Power Feature

The Shutdown Manager Advanced Feature enhances LUBE-IT with the ability to manage and track the lubrication aspects of planned equipment shutdowns (also known as outages). Using this feature to define the timeframe and affected equipment of a future shutdown enables LUBE-IT to provide significant insight and control throughout the time leading up to the actual event. Able to track multiple upcoming shutdowns, the Shutdown Manager reduces improvisation by increasing the foresight and effectiveness of lubrication during a planned shutdown.

Key features of the Shutdown Manager Power Feature include:

In addition to the features listed above, the Shutdown Manager feature is fully integrated with the Lockout Informer feature. Lockout Informer allows Lockout / Tagout information to be collected and displayed on the printed route worksheets and handheld routes.

With both of these Advanced Features working in conjunction, equipment requiring lockout information is automatically identified when the shutdown is defined. This provides advanced visibility of the lockouts needed to support the lubrication activities during the shutdown. Last minute changes in the final equipment lockout list are easily accommodated, with LUBE-IT automatically traversing the lockout information down to individual tasks as needed. Those performing lubrication tasks during the shutdown are informed, on a task-by-task basis, if a lockout is required and if it has been granted. This streamlined communication of lockout / tagout information reduces confusion and conflict while enhancing personnel safety throughout the duration of the shutdown.

The Shutdown Builder allows the precise definition of the equipment to be shutdown . Entire systems can be deemed to be shutdown, or if needed, individual equipment within a system can be flagged as shutdown or running as appropriate. Status icons provide quick visual indication of every item's state, as show below:

As well as indicating equipment to be shutdown, the Shutdown Builder also allows you to "look-ahead" and include tasks due out into the future as part of the shutdown. Then when the shutdown period arrives, LUBE-IT's automatic scheduling process will pull these tasks into the schedule even though they are not yet due. As an example, for a shutdown taking place the last week of July, you may wish to "pull-in" any additional couplings scheduled for August, September & October.

If desired, an option can be selected which will automatically "push-out" on-the-run tasks so they are excluded from the schedule during the shutdown period. This means not having to ignore on-the-run tasks which makes it easier give the needed focus to the shutdown tasks. As a plus, due dates for pushed-out tasks are automatically adjusted to prevent the on-the-run tasks from all showing as past-due the week following the shutdown.
