No Printouts or Clipboards Needed
No More Data Entry of Completed Tasks

Also right at hand are Route Notes, Safety Information, Product (Lubricant) List, and detailed
Procedures. Especially noteworthy is the ability to create on-the-spot Trouble Log entries for
any general equipment problems observed along the route. Plus, bar-coding
(Ultimate Edition) will provide positive confirmation the correct equipment is arrived at for service.
Handheld Routes is also fully integrated with these other Power-Pack modules: Consumption Tracking, Shutdown Manager, Lockout Informer and Lube-Test. For example, with both Handheld Routes and Consumption Tracking installed, LUBE-IT ensures seamless collection of consumption information. When a task designated for consumption tracking is marked as complete, the amount of product applied is quickly recorded on a pop-up 10-key pad. All consumption information is then automatically transferred into the main LUBE-IT database of LUBE-IT upon route check-in.
Handheld Routes is easy and yet effective. Follow along below for a better idea of Handheld Routes working in action:
First, click the Check-Out to Handheld button.
Next, select the route you wish to load and click Check-Out button.
Now just place the handheld device in its docking cradle and then click the OK button – the selected route is quickly downloaded and the unit is ready to go!
The route is now ready to be walked with Handheld Routes guiding the way – with no printed hardcopy!
Now let's explore how the route and its tasks are displayed and used out on the plant floor.
| 1) Shown below is the List view. It shows a list of the scheduled tasks for the route in sequence order. Note that red items are overdue and items with the green checkmark have already been completed. | 2) Below is the Task view which displays the detailed information needed to perform an individual task. This example shows a daily task about to be completed on Wednesday. | |

| 3) In this example the task has been completed and the DONE button has been touched. Note the button's green background and the green checkmark under the "W" (for Wednesday). |
4) Here is an example of creating a Trouble Log entry for a problem noted while the equipment was being lubricated. |

| Advancing the display to the next tasks is also easy. Just a tap of the finger on the NEXT button! | Handheld Routes does all of the data entry for you based upon the information for the current task. Just select the appropriate Trouble Description and click OK! | |
Best of all, checking the route back in is as easy checking it out!
With the power of LUBE-IT with Handheld Routes, organizations mobilize employees for more productive time. At the same time, these organizations increase job satisfaction by eliminating cumbersome, time-consuming paperwork and putting the right information right at the technician’s fingertips. This also eliminates data entry errors and improves quality of the data collected, leading to improved information for smarter decisions and better actions.
New productivity, increased morale, reduced errors, lower lubrication costs, improved machine condition and increased reliability – it all adds up to longer asset life, increased uptime, lower operating costs and, ultimately, greater profitability for the whole organization.
The Handheld Routes feature is compatible with a wide array of mainstream Windows Mobile based handheld computers including rugged industrial or intrinsically-safe units from manufacturers such as ECOM Instruments, Intermec, Motorola, Trimble and more.
Generation Systems recommends and offers the rugged handheld computers from Trimble because they are an excellent value and more rugged than most! They run Windows Mobile and deliver maximum performance and reliability in a lightweight, extremely rugged design that's easy to carry. They have a bright color screen and weigh about 18 ounces, and unlike less “rugged” units, meet rigid military specifications for drops, vibration, and both high and low temperature operation. These units work wherever and whenever you need them. The Trimble units also excel when it comes to price. With less capable units costing well over $3,000 it's easy to why LUBE-IT users appreciate the performance, durability and value of the Trimble product line.
